Zhu Liu takes integrated approach to assess the human impacts on the earth system in terms of greenhouse gas emissions (Nature 2015, Nature 2019). Zhu has pioneered the study on anthropogenic carbon sink, the phenomenon and measurement that artifacts can uptake CO2 from atmosphere (Nature Geoscience 2016). Zhu’s broad research interests also crosses the Life-environment interrelationship in Early-life evolution (Chinese Science Bulletin,2007), astrobiology and the science and policy toward advancing the human sustainability.

Wenwen Zhou, PhD
Wenwen Zhou received the M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2011. He is currently the General Manager in Alibaba Cloud-Energy Cloud.
He is among the first to apply digital technology to carbon neutrality. Under his leadership, the Energy Cloud team made quick progress in B2G, B2B, and B2C products, which created greater customer value and wider industrial influence. The team helped governments control carbon emissions, helped small and medium-sized enterprises find a greener way of development, and encouraged low-carbon practices among the student group so as to support the sustainable development of society. He is also on behalf of Alibaba Cloud in many international forums and industry associations, which greatly enhances the Alibaba’s influence in the energy and carbon neutrality fields.
His research interests include digital technology & AI on Energy Interconnection, product carbon footprint and CCUS.

- Lei Xiaois the climate research & innovation director of Alibaba Energy Cloud, responsible for developing green AI and digital products for sustainable sports and carbon removal. He received a PhD from University of Regina and is a registered professional engineer in Canada.
- Zhu Dengis a senior algorithm engineer at Alibaba Cloud. He is also a member of the Carbon Monitor and GRACED academic teams. He earned his Ph.D. in Earth System Science Department at Tsinghua University.
- Jian Qiuis the technical director of Energy Cloud team at Alibaba Cloud, responsible for the AI applications in the dual-carbon and energy industry. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
- Kai Liuis a Senior Algorithm Engineer of Energy Cloud team at Alibaba Cloud, responsible for developing algorithms and programs to help government/enterprise customers meet sustainable goals. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University.
